Daniel Craig needs no introduction at all. He is the British actor who plays James Bond and has a massive following. But you would be surprised to know that he has auditioned for a role in Aamir Khan’s yesteryear film Rang De Basanti.
This crazy news was revealed by the film’s director, Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra in his latest autobiography The Stranger in the Mirror.
Going into details, Rakesh says that Daniel Craig had auditioned for the role of James McKinley in the film which showcases the past and present freedom struggle in a beautiful way. For those who forgot, James McKinley is the young jailor who walks Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev to be hanged.
Rakesh says that Daniel also got selected for the role but as he was also auditioning for the role of James Bond, he asked some time to get back to his part in the film.
But to his luck, he got the biggest chance of his life to play James Bond and the rest is history as they say. Rang De Basanti also had Telugu actor, Siddharth in a key role.
