Hero Kiran Abbavaram made heads turned with his debut Raja Varu Rani Garu. Kiran’s next SR Kalyanamandapam is hitting the screens tomorrow. Kiran is cool and confident about the film. Kiran has penned the film’s story, script and dialogues. The one-liners in the trailer have already garnered good response. Ask Kiran what made him leave the direction for SR Kalyanamandapam?
“Director Sreedhar (Chotu) and me have been associated from longtime. We used to do shortfilms together and Chotu Bhai used to edit my shortfilms. He has sound knowledge on technicalities. I felt he would be better as a director. I thought he could handle this story better than me. At the end, all I want is to make a good film. More than me directing the film, I felt Chotu Bhai would be apt. He did deliver the best output,” says Kiran Abbavaram.
How did SR Kalyanamandapam materialise? After seeing Raja Varu Rani Garu, producers Pramod and Raju have liked my performance. They believed in me. They had invited me for an event and they showed interest in working with me. When we told the SR Kalyanamandapm story, they were quite impressed with it. They have given us free hand and never interfered in the creative aspect and have provided what all we wanted to make the film without any compromise.
Giving a peep into the film, Kiran says that the film is a commercial entertainer laced with comedy and emotion. “I have been interested in commercial films since my childhood. Both director and me hail from village background. So making this film has become easier. The film has shaped up well. We are very confident on its success.”
Kiran is all praise for actor Sai Kumar. He says he learnt a lot from Sai Kumar. Ask him what is the highlight of the film. He is quick to say,”Last 20 minutes of the film will be highlight and crucial. Climax of SR Kalyanamandapam is something to be not missed.”
