Recently, actor Suriya announced the Hindi remake of his successful recent outing Soorarai Pootru (Aakashame Nee Haddura in Telugu). The lead actor of this movie is yet to be confirmed. Suriya is bankrolling the project along with Abundantia Entertainment.
Meanwhile, a case was filed against Suriya’s 2D Entertainment at the Madras High Court, and eventually, the magistrate has directed a stay order on the remake. The complaint was filed by Sikhya Entertainment, which produced the original Tamil version, along with Suriya.
According to the sources, Sikhya had an agreement with 2D Entertainment saying that they would collaborate for the Hindi remake too. Apparently, 2D Entertainment joined hands with Abundantia without Sikhya’s consent. As it didn’t abide by the contract, Sikhya filed a complaint in court.
Directed by Sudha Kongara, Soorarai Pottru featured Aparna Balamurali as the female lead. It was based on the life of Air Deccan founder Captain GR Gopinath. The film had a direct release on Amazon Prime Video.
