Somu Veerraju To Be Removed As AP BJP Chief?

Is the Andhra Pradesh BJP going to witness a change in leadership? Sources from the BJP high command categorically hint so. Apparently the central BJP leadership is not happy with current AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju and there are high chances of former chief Kanna Lakshmi Narayana getting reinstated.

It’s been just a year that Somu Veerraju has taken over as AP BJP chief but the high command is in opinion that his leadership is ineffective. Right after his appointment, Somu could not initiate committees and was not able to counter the YS Jagan’s government for its mistakes especially in the attack of temples. Somu was also compared with Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay who did make the TRS government sweat in Dubbaka and GHMC elections. Whereas under the leadership of Somu, BJP could not even manage to get a deposit in Tirupati Lok Sabha by-poll.

BJP insiders believe Somu could not cash this opportunity which was the saffron’s fort and ideology. Some are of the opinion that Somu got the chief of AP BJP with the association he has with Sangh and also with the support of a leader from Uttar Pradesh.

Whereas Kanna Lakshmi Narayana was marginally effective enough on issues like Amaravati farmers protest and a few more. He also toured the entire state as BJP chief and tried to strengthen the cadre. On these terms BJP high command is considering reinstate Kanna as AP BJP chief.

Simultaneously there is a demand to give chief role to a leader from Rayalaseema region. Accordingly, former minister Adinarayana Reddy’s name is being considered. Probably by next week BJP will decide upon the new chief of AP and Somu would be shown the exit doors.
