Shocked by Hema’s Allegations: Naresh Counters

Published by

During the weekend popular character artist Hema made sensational allegations against actor Naresh who is the current Movie Artists Association (MAA) President. Hema alleged that Naresh is conspiring to postpone the MAA elections and sit in MAA President seat till next year. Hema also sent voice messages to nearly 200 MAA members and tried to gather their signatures in support of MAA polls.

Reacting to these remarks, Naresh called on the media along with MAA general secretary Jeevitha Rajasekhar. “Not just me, even industry biggies, MAA executive committee members and office bearers were also stunned by Hema’s remarks,” said Naresh.

On diverting the MAA funds, Naresh stated, “As per Hema, there was a sum of Rs 4.75 crore in MAA treasury. But every penny was used for the welfare of MAA members. We helped people who were infected with Corona and even talked to hospitals in getting a bed if the condition of a patient is serious. On the funds that Hema alleged that there won’t be any money for future needs, we gathered around Rs 84 Lakh through membership, Jeevitha donated Rs 10 Lakh, I gathered Rs 14 Lakh from my friends. So we have been continuously funding the MAA treasury and there is no drought for it.”

Hema also went on to comment on MAA elections and to this Naresh replied that “On July 29th the Executive Committee meeting was held in virtual mode as in the Disciplinary and Reconciliation Committee, there are elders. Taking their age and health into consideration, the meeting was held in virtual mode. Coming to elections, based on Supreme Court and High Courts judgment on elections that it would impose murder charges, there is a bit delay. But another executive committee meeting is scheduled on August 22nd and we shall decide on the elections then,” added Naresh.

On funds, Naresh showed a letter which was reportedly sent by Megastar Chiranjeevi. “I received an appreciation letter from Chiranjeevi garu. Irrespective of the funds, through insurance companies, we have ensured that families of actors who passed away due to Corona received money within 24 hours. Journalist TNR’s family was one among them,” said Naresh.
