It all started with Adivi Sesh, tasting the success of Kshanam. Sesh penned the film’s story and screenplay along with the film’s director Ravikanth Perepu. The film that was made on a budget, under a crore tasted a big success at the box office. Sesh continued the same strategy for his immediate film Goodachari. Sesh was also a director but he decided to stick to writing and acting for the time being.
After gaining fame with the film Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, young hero Vishwaksen turned writer and director for the film Falaknuma Das. The buzz is that he reportedly will have his say in the film’s script for all his movies.
The next one to join the list is Naveen Polishetty. He has an amazing grip over his craft, acting, and also a solid understanding of a film’s script. Naveen is a part of the writing of his two Telugu films Agent Sai Srinivasa Atreya and Jathi Ratnalu. Both the films became big hits at the box office.
In recent times, Kiran Abbavaram also caught everyone’s attention by becoming the writer for his latest film SR Kalyanamandapam. The actor is extremely happy with the way the film was received at the box office.
Earlier, Naga Shaurya too turned a writer for the film Ashwathama. He also expressed to come up with more projects as a writer.
The actors turning writers could help a few gain success but one must certainly have an understanding of the craft. An actor should also see acting and writing as two different things and only in that case, he can excel in both crafts.
