Currently, the man in discussion is none other than director Meher Ramesh whose career almost went blank and out of the range for years, before the rumours about his mega film began. And now that it is official that the director is carving out Bhola Shankar with Megastar Chiru, a remake of Tamil superhit Vedhalam, many are advising a bit of caution for the filmmaker.
Meher Ramesh carved out four films including NTR’s Kantri and Shakti, Prabhas’ Billa and Venkatesh’s Shadow. While all these films didn’t work, his Kantri with NTR is more of a cost failure while the content looks good, but his zeal to beat Magadheera with Shakti has failed big time as the director focused only on extensive VFX but gave the need for developing dramatic scenes a toss. Same is the case with Billa and Shadow, where lavishness shrouded the actual story and that failed to click at the box office. For those three mistakes, the director has to sit silent without work for nearly 8 years.
Now that Chiranjeevi has handed him the task of Vedhalam remake, maybe the director should focus on extracting the Ajith like mania from Megastar rather than giving stylish touch to it. The more brother-sister bond he explores, the more this film will get roaring applause. Meher should be careful that he shouldn’t repeat another Billa like a thing now with this remake.
Hope the director will keep in view all these things and attain what he has struggled to get back then, a super hit. It will be good if people call you a super hit filmmaker than a stylish filmmaker.
