We have seen how some distributors have flared up with the fact that Nani’s Tuck Jagadish and Naga Chaitanya’s Love Story releasing on the same day, though one is hitting the OTT platform while another one is being released in theatres.
Though both are releasing in different arenas, the trade network feels that the clash will result in a big loss only as cinema is cinema no matter where it gets released.
Guess what, not just Tuck Jagadish but also Nithin’s Maestro is aiming for a September 3rd release date on OTT platform Hotstar, while the former’s film will release on Prime Video.
And on the same day, Sekhar Kammula and Naga Chaitanya’s Love Story will release in theatres. Sensing the need to avert the clash, it’s heard that the producers of these three films have finally come to an understanding.
While Chay’s Love Story will proceed with the release date, the producers of the other two films have agreed to shuffle their movie releasing dates. Tuck Jagadish might postpone the Amazon Prime release by a week, and Maestro will come two days after the first planned date.
Currently, the producers are said to be in talks with OTT platforms regarding these new release dates and within a day or two, an announcement will come in that regard.
If these agreements had happened much prior, the whole fiasco of blaming Nani and then Producers guild issuing statements wouldn’t have taken place. Well, things will take good shape if one sits for a discussion, rather than arguing in the media and taking potshots.
