Twenty days ahead of the film’s release on streaming platform Disney Hotstar, the OTT giant has started a massive publicity campaign on social media for Nithin’s Maestro. That’s the advantage films will have if they opt for an OTT release and the sneak peek is now giving a lot of food for thought for the Telugu audiences.
Going by the sneak peek video of the film, one could understand a fact that the director Merlapaka Gandhi hasn’t remade the original Andhadhun frame to frame, but gave some comic changes to the character the hero is playing. In the original intro scene of Andhadhun, we could see Ayushman Khuranna having no dialogues at all but here in the Telugu version, Nithin speaks about a malfunctioning piano and a tune he has to compose soon. And the Hindi version is more of a poor-lower-middle-class setup, but here in Telugu, the feel looks classy and a bit rich.
The lovers of the original Andhadhun feel that the silence Ayushman Khurrana’s character carries most of the time in the film led to its huge success, but now that the Telugu version got a different spin to it, they are feeling the Telugu writers might have added a lot of pulihora, thereby damaging the original essence. But we can’t say that for now, as many average movies turned out to be super hits when remade in Telugu, so maybe the director had made a biryani out of the original, feel a few.
On the other hand, the addition of Tamanna brought a lot of glamour to the movie, while Nabha Natesh and the entire Dubai and Goa backdrop, which is not there in the original, has brought more richness to the visuals. Hope all this helps Nithin to score a massive hit on OTT debut.
