Akshay Returns From UK Shoot As His Mom’s In ICU

Published by

Akshay Kumar is one of the busiest actors in Bollywood and he often takes up two to three projects a year. The actor who was in London shooting for an undisclosed project came to Mumbai in an impromptu manner as his mother’s health deteriorated.

Akshay Kumar, who was scheduled to stay in London for a few more weeks, flew back to Mumbai in the wee hours of Monday morning after his mother Aruna Bhatia was admitted to the ICU. The actor’s mom has been unwell for a few days and is in the ICU at Mumbai’s Hiranandani Hospital.

Soon after hearing the news, the actor could not stay any longer in London and decided to fly back to India in a sudden decision. It is reported that Akshay asked his producers to carry on shooting with scenes that do not require his presence. The actor said the work must go on, despite any personal challenges.

In fact, Akshay Kumar was earlier in the headlines saying that he would return to India only in October and complete his film Ram Setu by December this year. In March 2021, the Ram Setu team started shooting for the film in Ayodhya and the set was later demolished. The remaining part of the film was decided to shoot in Sri Lanka but the makers changed their plans adhering to pandemic protocols.

Later, the team decided to shift the shoot to Kerala but with the state becoming a hotspot for Covid, the makers are now planning to shoot the outdoor portions of the film in Gujarat. Akshay Kumar, apart from Ram Setu and a project in the UK, also has Bachchan Pandey, Prithviraj, Sooryavanshi, and Raksha Bandhan
