There is no doubt that Megastar Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Victory Venkatesh, and Nagarjuna are the four topmost senior heroes in Tollywood. The actors who used to rule the industry in the 90s and early 2000s are still busy with a bunch of projects in their pipelines. But after the second lockdown, when everyone is trying to promote their upcoming films and announcing their release dates, there is no clarity from the senior heroes.
Nagarjuna Akkineni’s last release is Wild Dog and he is busy with the shoot of The Ghost and Bangarraju. Venkatesh already released Narappa on Amazon Prime Video and his next release Drushyam 2 will have a release on Disney+ Hotstar.
On the other hand, Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna who have their respective films in post-production are confusing the trade by remaining silent on the release dates of these films. There is no clarity on the films releasing during the festival weekend. Fans badly want to witness Acharya and Akhanda this Dusshera but the makers are tight-lipped about the same.
One of the major reasons behind the silence of the producers of the two biggies is the uncertainty on the ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh. Tuck Jagadish and Love Story producers postponed the releases for the same reason. Due to their own reasons, the makers of Tuck Jagadish opted for a direct OTT release.
A team of film industry personalities, headed by Megastar Chiranjeevi is expected to meet the chief minister of AP to resolve the issues pertaining to the movie industry. In their meeting with CM Jagan, they are expecting to arrive at a final conclusion on the ticket rates in the state. Unless the meeting take place, all the major production houses will stall the release of their films.
Even Balakrishna is also awaiting the decision on the ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh. Indirectly, he is also waiting for Chiranjeevi to meet YS Jagan.
If Acharya and Akhanda are confirmed for a Dusshera release, the makers of Love Story will also bring their film to theatres around the same time.
For now, the entire film industry is waiting for the crucial meeting of Tollywood with CM Jagan!
Chiranjeevi’s Acharya is in the final stages and the same is happening with Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda as well. Acharya was supposed to have a release in May 2021 but the makers postponed it because of the second wave of COVID-19. With RRR getting postponed from October 2021, other producers announced the arrival of their movies during the Dusshera season.
Akhil’s Most Eligible Bachelor will hit the screens on the 8th of October and the official announcement has been made already. Krish’s Kondapalam with Vaisshnav Tej will also have a grand release in the first week of October.
