Soorarai Pottru remained one of the highly successful and critically lauded films of Suriya’s career. Recently, the makers have announced the Hindi remake of it. Suriya, who bankrolled the Tamil version, decided to produce the Hindi version too, along with Abundantia Entertainment.
However, the remake went into legal trouble when Shikhya Entertainment, which co-produced the original version, filed the injunction application against the remake in the Madras High Court.
Now, the makers are relieved from the case as the court vacated the injunction granted to Sikhya Entertainment. This means that the makers can proceed with the works of the Hindi remake without any obstacles.
It is heard that that Suriya’s 2D Entertainment pleaded that it had paid a huge amount of money to facilitate the acquisition of the rights of Captain Gopinath’s book Simply Fly, apart from paying the actual rights money.
After thoroughly examining 2D Entertainment’s statement, the court has given it a nod to go ahead.
Soorarai Pottru is based on Simply Fly and was directed by Sudha Kongara. She will be wielding the megaphone for the Hindi version as well. The cast and crew details of this remake are expected to be announced soon.
