Released exactly on this date (June 15th) in 1995, Mohan Babu and Rajinikanth starrer Pedarayudu completes 25 years after release today. The film bankrolled by Mohan Babu under Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures was directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty with Koti scoring the music.
On the occasion of Pedarayudu completing 25 years, the core team shared series of incidents before and after starting the project. Mohan Babu informed that his friend superstar Rajinikanth recommended him to watch and buy remake rights of Tamil film Nattamai starring Sarathkumar which was a runaway hit.
Mohan Babu too liked the film and bought remake rights from RB Choudary at reasonable price. “Before I went to meet Choudary, Rajini already passed the message. So, the producer didn’t utter a word and offered remake rights. I could get the rights only because of my friend Rajinikanth,” stated Mohan Babu.
Mohan Babu then asked Ravi Raja Pinisetty to watch the film. The veteran director too loved the movie, but suggested few changes. Writer Satyamurthy joined the project as dialogue writer and provided some powerful dialogues.
Mohan Babu also revealed that Rajinikanth helped him financially when he was lack of funds while making Pedarayudu.
Music director Koti gave wonderful tunes. Kadile Kalama and Abbadaani were biggest chartbusters then.
NT Rama Rao, Dasari Narayana Rao and K Raghavendra Rao were there to support the film which ended as an industry hit.
