Today is the birth anniversary of iconic actor Akkineni Nageshwara Rao. Even though he is not amongst us today, his films and his soul live on until the last breath of Telugu cinema.

On this special occasion, ANR’s son Akkineni Nagarjuna shared a special video, which talks about his father’s love towards ‘panchakattu,’ and how he is trying to bring back his father’s glory with his next film Bangarraju.

“Remembering dear Nana! My hero!! My inspiration!! #ANRLivesOn,” tweeted Nagarjuna along with the video.

In the clip, the actor said, “September 20th is an important day in my life. It marks the birthday of my inspiration and my hero, my father. Dad likes ‘panchakattu’ a lot. He used to look good in it.”

“He likes ‘Ponduri Khaddar’ which I am wearing right now. I also wearing his navaratnala haram, navaratnala ungaram (ring) and vintage watch too. I feel being next to him when I wear all these things. We are now trying to bring back his ‘panchakattu glory’ with our film (Bangarraju). ANR Lives On,” he further added.

Bangarraju is a spin-off of Nag’s 2016 film Soggade Chinni Nayana. Directed by Kalyana Krishna, this movie features Naga Chaitanya in the other lead role.
