Tollywood celebrities are being scrutinized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the last few weeks in relation to the high-end drugs racket which was busted in 2017. Actor Tarun has appeared before the ED the other day regarding the same.
Tarun is one of the 10 Tollywood celebrities who were summoned by the ED. The interrogation started with Puri Jagannath on August 31. Later, Charmme, Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, Ravi Teja, Tanish, Mumaith Khan, Nandu, and Navadeep were questioned. Tarun is the last celebrity to appear before the ED.
According to the sources, the officials questioned Tarun for more than seven hours. Apparently, they checked all the financial transactions of the actor for the last few years and questioned him regarding the same. Tarun’s father also appeared before the ED in order to submit a few bank documents. He was also questioned by the officials.
The officials interrogated Tarun with his statement given in 2017. The actor gave his bio-samples to an independent excise agency on July 19, 2017.
According to the report given by the Forensic Department, there are no signs of any drug consumption in his body.
Tarun was also asked about his connection with the drug kingpin and the primary accused of the case, Calvin Mascarenhas.
