Aditi Rao Hydari will be seen in a vital role as Maha in Sharwanand and Siddharth starrer Maha Samudram. Directed by Ajay Bhupathi, the intense love and action drama will be hitting the screens on 14th of this month. The actress interacted with scribes.
Tell us about your character in the film?
Maha is a bubbly, honest and hard-working girl. She is very transparent. She doesn’t hide anything.
What’s the backdrop of the character?
Maha belongs to a simple family living in Vizag. She earns for her house and parents. She is a dancer who teaches to little kids.
What’s the immediate reaction after listening to the story?
I loved it. I already saw RX 100, before he came to narrate me the story. He has great command over emotions and drama. He’s kind of director who celebrates his heroes, heroines etc. His story telling is very strong. He loves his characters. Ajay narrated me the story 2 years ago. Every 3 months, lots of changes happened. He told me that he will make the film with me only, and requested me to allot call sheets whenever the film begins. I feel I’m so blessed. We were all fans of Ajay. He is like a five years old kid for us. We really had fun shooting the film.
What do you say about caption of the film?
I love the caption of the film. I like love stories. When Ajay said it’s a love story, I felt happy. Immeasurable love, I also believe in that. Love is something that is the most powerful thing. Everything is correct, if there is love between two people.
How challenging it is to play Maha?
Each character in the film is very special and challenging. There’s lots of detailing about every character. What I I learnt from Mani sir is, every day you have to come to set like a kid who’s learning, who’s curious. I don’t consider myself a star. I consider myself a student. I’m an actor. When I come to set, my director is my guru. I make sure Maha come to live. I brought special magic to the character. The more challenging it is the more excited I’m.
Is Maha Samudram a women centric film?
The character Maha is at the center of drama. That is the way it is written. It is also film about friendship. Siddu is Mani sir’s student. He knows everything about filmmaking. He does home-work. He has great command over Telugu language. Sharwa is very good actor. He’s very settled actor. He is very calm on sets. Both Sharwa and Sid didn’t behave like stars. They come to set like actors. We all worked as friends. It’s a film that belongs to all. It’s a script centric film.
Tell us something about technical values?
I always feel director is captain of ship. Ajay has strong understanding of cinema. Artists and technicians worked for the film are brilliant. Raj Thota said he will show Maha like how Mani showed me in Cheliya. I’m a big fan of Chaitan Bharadwaj. His melodies are so beautiful.
Have you done any workshop for the film?
Ajay is a kind of director who tells you lots about his characters. He doesn’t want any preparation, before shoot. Actors should feel fresh to do the scenes. I too enjoyed the process.
Will you do any biopic?
I’m a dancer and I also like music. I would like to do MS Subbalakshmi’s biopic. I also wish to do Rekha’s biopic. I call her ‘Maa’. I would love to do her biopic.
Aditi says Sharwa used to call her and Ajay as Tom and Jerry as they always used to fight on sets.
