In the wake of Manchu Vishnu winning Movie Artists Association President post, last night we have mega brother Nagababu tendering his resignation and in the morning Prakash Raj gave the same shocker saying that he doesn’t want to stay in MAA anymore as he got labelled as a non-Telugu outsider. But then, are these two really looking at things that never worked in their favour?
Forget about the fact that industry got divided on caste factor and the whole Kapu faction stood by Prakash Raj side while Kamma-Reddy factions united to script Manchu Vishnu. That’s not a legible argument because there are many Kammas who rallied behind Prakash Raj and many Kapus that voted for Manchu Vishnu in this election. Majorly, one has to look at things that failed Prakash Raj’s candidature.
Point 1: Non-Local argument
Well, this is an age-old argument and this non-local feeling is what has driven Telangana people to kick out Andhraites and demand a separate state. So that similar feeling in MAA with Prakash Raj should not be seen as a new thing. But what did PR do to counter it? Had he been able to counter them well? Did he anytime ask that the ones like Ravibabu and Vishnu who used the non-local card on Prakash Raj ever tried to give chances only to local heroines and character artists in their films? Prakash failed to kick up this argument.
Point 2: Unwanted personal attacks
Many know that Kota Srinivasa Rao is against the likes of Prakash Raj for a long time as he felt that his own place got occupied by all such versatile actors from other states. Rather than calling him names, Nagababu should have stayed silent and should have directed Kota to ask Rajamouli, Trivikram and Sukumar, as they are the leading directors who are bringing actors from other states to bring pan-India color to their projects. Nagababu’s illogical and cheap comments on Kota has weakened Prakash Raj’s team
Point 3: Publicity in the public
Rather than hosting just meetings, Manchu Vishnu just went all the way to meet big actors and took pictures with them, and posted them on social media to showcase their support. What did Prakash Raj do in this aspect? Had he met any of the leading heroes and heroines to pose with them and showcase their support to other MAA members? What if all the mega heroes including Chiranjeevi have openly supported Prakash’s candidature? Definitely, he would have given a tough fight then, but Prakash failed to get that support publicly.
Point 4: Magic is important than logic
Like it was said many times by many politicians, it’s the magic that works for voters not the logic. A dose of reality and communist like aggression doesn’t work as people always love to believe that things will change magically over time. But Prakash’s speech never consisted of that magic and it is something he should work upon to win in politics.
Point 5: An army of loyalists
From Megastar Chiranjeevi to Pawan Kalyan, they have failed politically because of the lack of an army of loyalists that would support them no matter what. Always jump-jilani candidates have backstabbed Chiru and Pawan, and that’s the reason they are failing to click in politics. Even Prakash Raj followed the same thing as he never got that loyalist army but blindly believed in flippers like Bandla Ganesh and others. Before jumping into MAA fray, Prakash should have created this army first rather than doing a one-man show. Though Nagababu joined in the end, it’s too late already.
