Varudu Kavalenu First Went To Naga Chaitanya

Published by

Director Lakshmi Sowjanya divulged that she had first narrated the story of Varudu Kavalenu to actor Naga Chaitanya. However, she maintained that Naga Shaurya has been her first choice as the film’s protagonist. Sowjanya adimmed that the film with Chaitanya didn’t materialise. However, the film went to Shaurya who has been her top choice.

Sowjanya said, “I had first approached Naga Chaitanya although Shaurya is in my mind for the role of Akash. Every girl wants a good-looking and good-natured guy like Naga Shaurya. That’s why he is the best choice for Akash’s role. I am quite happy that I got Shaurya on board. Due to two waves of Covid, the film suffered delays. But finally, we’re releasing our films in theatres on 29th October.”

Talking about how she managed to get a directorial debut in a happening production house like Sithara Entertainments, Sowjanya shared, “I had first met producer Chinna Babu garu in 2017. I narrated the storyline of ‘Varudu Kavalenu’. He liked the central point. After that I gave a 30-minute story narration to Chinna Babu garu. He was very impressed with the story. He guided me a lot throughout the filmmaking. I learnt a lot during the making of the film. Chinna Babu garu guided me how to handle actors and how to get the best out of them. I really can’t ask for a better launch other than this.”

Lakshmi Sowjanya shared that the film shaped up quite well and it will appeal to both youth and family audiences. She said that the film is a beautiful love story with family elements. Ritu Varma is playing the role of Bhumi opposite Shaurya.
