Versatile actor Prakash Raj turns centre of controversies not just for his outspokenness but also for his performance. Yet again he landed in a controversy for a particular scene in the movie ‘Jai Bhim’ which released on Amazon Prime earlier this week.
In the film Prakash Raj slaps a man who utters dialogues in Hindi and asks him to speak in Tamil. The controversy gained huge uproar (but it appeared a deliberate attempt) and finally Prakash Raj broke the silence on that particular scene.
“If you did not see the injustice against tribal people in Jai Bhim, but the slap, it exposes your agenda,” said Prakash Raj in an interview with a media outlet. He further added that for some, the slap scene irked because it was Prakash Raj on screen and the focus here (in the film) is on the injustice. Let us be fair.
Prakash Raj played Perumalsamy, an Inspector General in ‘Jai Bhim’ which was based on real events that took place in the year 1993.
Let’s hope the controversy is settled and Prakash Raj is free from it.
