Amid the rumors on Gunasekhar’s Hiranyakashyapa about the movie being shelved for its vast budget, the director’s tweet with an update on the movie clarified it all.
Gunasekhar said the film’s pre-production work is wrapped up and he is waiting for the situation to come to control to resume the shoot. Gunasekhar wrote, “#Hiranyakashyapa Pre-Production work is completely done. Awaiting normalcy to take things forward. #OmNamoNarayanaya.” It can be noted that the film’s pre-production work has almost gone on for four long years.
After delivering historical biographical film Rudhramadevi in 2015, Gunasekhar has been extensively working on the mythological film Hiranyakashyapa with Rana Daggubati in the title role. Rana, who played Bhallaladeva in Baahubali and Chalukya Veerabhadra in Rudhramadevi, is the first choice for Hiranyakashyapa.
While Gunasekhar had plans to make this the costliest film in his career ever with a staggering Rs 150 crore budget using extensive Computer Graphics and high-end VFX, post Covid, the director may trim the budget considering the extraordinary conditions. More details are awaited. With such clarification coming from Gunasekhar, Rana’s fans have heaved a huge sigh of relief.
