Venkatesh had a direct OTT release a few months back in the form of Narappa. Now, he is all set to come up with his second OTT release of the year, Drushyam 2. This Jeethu Joseph directorial film is all set for its premiere on November 25.
Meanwhile, it is being heard that the makers have now landed in trouble which is causing uncertainty about the film’s release. According to the reports, Disney+Hotstar raised a dispute over Drushyam 2’s release as the makers had already made an agreement with it.
Apparently, producer Suresh Babu had already signed a deal with Hotstar for the direct digital release of Drushyam 2. However, he later changed his decision and sold the rights to Amazon Prime Video, for some unknown reason.
It is heard that Hotstar’s team was unaware of this deal and came to know about it only when Prime Video officially announced the news on social media a few days back.
Hotstar’s management was irked by this move of Suresh Productions and reportedly, it raised a dispute over the same. We hear that Suresh Babu is now holding talks with Hotstar’s team and is planning to settle the issue amicably.
If the problem gets sorted out, Drushyam 2 will premiere as per the plan. The film features Meena, Nadhiya and Naresh in pivotal roles.
