After Sooryavanshi, the second-most affected Bollywood biggie due to the COVID-19 pandemic is the Ranveer Singh-starrer ’83. Directed by Kabir Khan, this movie was supposed to release in April 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. After a long gap of more than one and a half years, it is all set to hit the screens now.
’83 will release across the globe on December 24, 2021. This morning, the makers have announced that the trailer will be unveiled on November 30. They have also shared a teaser and increased hype on the trailer.
’83 is based on India’s victorious Cricket World Cup campaign in 1983. The teaser features Ranveer, who is playing the role of Kapil Dev, taking a catch in the final match against West Indies. The visuals reminded us of that vintage cricketing era and the background score was riveting.
Sports drama carrying a good amount of emotions always works well at the box office. It looks like ’83 has that drama that can emotionally move the audience.
’83 features Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Saahil Khattar, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harrdy Sandhu and Jatin Sarna in the other pivotal roles. Deepika Padukone will be seen in an extended cameo.
The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
