Nepotism has raised a huge debate among the Indian entertainment circles for the last couple of years. Most of the star actors or technicians give a launch pad to their family members in the film industry. But music composer Thaman is an exception. He feels that his family members need to carve a niche for themselves without his support.
Thaman’s wife is a professional singer. But he made her sing in his films very rarely. Speaking in a recent chat show, Thaman said that his wife had sung only five or six songs for him until now. He feels that he should not become a package of giving chances to his family members.
The star composer also revealed that he had an arranged marriage. Apparently, he had no time to run a love story. His family members looked for a suitable bride for him and he immediately married her without having any second thoughts.
The couple has a son, who is in the 10th standard now. Thaman said that his son is yet to decide on what he wants to become. “He says cricket once, then Music, and all of a sudden, he says that he wants to go the NASA,” said Thaman.
Thaman loves his mother a lot. He says that she is his world right now. His sister got married recently and stays nearby his house. “She wants to become a singer too. She started singing recently. But I don’t want to give her a chance. I tell her to experience the hurdles in the industry and shine in her career,” stated Thaman.
The star music director is currently awaiting the release of his next film Akhanda, which is all set to hit the screens on December 2.
