The majority of the film industry works on ‘setting up the projects’ or ‘packaging the projects’. Some of the producers go by combinations to taste the success. They want to rope in a star hero, and then a rising heroine who enjoys a good following, and a trending music composer and also get some seasoned artists on board to play other important roles. But, for some films, the hero alone becomes the care-of address for success. With Akhanda, Balakrishna proved it once again. Senior producer Tammareddy Bharadwaj echoed the same in a recent video.
Tammareddy Bharadwaj is one of the senior producers in the movie industry who is associated with many stars of the yesteryears and current generation. In a recent video, he shared his views on Balakrishna’s Akhanda and the success it created in Tollywood.
“Usually, some people make films with a lot of requirements in their mind. Like they should get a hero, an established heroine, a popular music director, and so on. But, this is not the case with Balakrishna’s films. If he signs a project, he has guts to carry the film on his shoulders,” said Tammareddy, adding, “It used to be the case when Sr NTR, ANR, Krishna and Sobhanbabu used to do films.”
“People come to theatres to watch the hero and they do not care who else is acting with him. All the heroes I mentioned now including Balakrishna have that guts to bring people to theatres and they don’t care about other factors,” he shared.
Balakrishna’s one-man show in Akhanda is being praised by the critics, audience and very importantly, his fans Boyapati Srinu directed the film and scored his first hat-trick with Balakrishna after Simha and Legend.
Akhanda was released on 2nd December and became a big blockbuster in the Telugu states as well as overseas.
