It is already known that the decision of Andhra Pradesh’s government regarding movie ticket prices will adversely affect big-budget films. It is a herculean task for the makers and buyers to mint a huge amount at the box office with such low ticket rates.
The upcoming magnum opus RRR will also get affected by this decision. Thus, it is being speculated whether RRR makers will negotiate with the AP government and get permission to hike the ticket rates.
The same question was asked to the film’s producer DVV Danayya in the press meet held today. He was asked whether he is taking NTR’s help to sort out the AP ticket prices issue because the actor’s two close friends (Kodali Nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi) are in a strong position in the state government.
It is a known fact that NTR used to have a close bonding with Nani and Vamsi. However, their equation remains unknown now.
Responding to the question, Danayya said, “AP government’s decision will not work for any big-budget film. Still, we are trying to hold talks with the government. We hope that the government responds in a positive way.”
Directed by SS Rajamouli, RRR features NTR Jr. and Ram Charan in the lead roles. It will hit the theatres on January 7, 2022.
