Balakrishna’s Akhanda collected 100 crore gross recently and heading towards becoming a bigger blockbuster. It is heard that the movie is already eyed by some B-town biggies who are planning to remake with one of the senior heroes there.
It is clearly evident that Boyapati’s extremely mass formula connects to the Telugu audience like no other language audience. Considering the mass appeal the movie has, the Bollywood filmmakers are said to be looking at either Akshay or Ajay Devgan for the lead role in it. There is a catch here.
Akhanda is clearly Balayya’s one man show. His performance and screen presence overshadowed many loopholes and loose ends in the script, ultimately giving a great experience to the audience. It is evident that any other hero in Balayya’s role could not have impressed that big during the interval block.
Even the senior heroes like Akshay and Ajay Devgan may not be having an edge with that role if their tremendous screen presence fails to dominate the flaws in the story. The story might need to go through a lot of changes and a proper balance only can get a big success for the Akhanda remake.
The Telugu audience appreciated Balayya’s Aghora character, climax dialogues, and aggression, heroism in many scenes. But recreating the same without Balayya is next to impossible. If the Hindi filmmakers try to make a frame-to-frame remake, they might be ending a laughing stock.
