For any film, the director is the captain of the ship. Everyone collaborates with the director to take his vision forward and it is very important to understand his intention behind making a film. However, for Pushpa, it is not the case. Director Sukumar worked very hard on bringing this project to celluloid but his voice goes unheard during the film’s promotions.
Sukumar is known as the creative director and intellectual director by the fans and audience. From the film’s titles itself, Sukumar showers his creativity and for a film like Pushpa that was made on a big scale, it is important to know what he has to say about the film. Unfortunately, he is very much engrossed in finishing the film’s post-production works and skipped the promotions.
Sukumar did not attend the pre-release event, held in Hyderabad a few days ago. He is nowhere seen in the film’s promotions. Sukumar did not give any interviews yet. He is absent for the press meets in other cities too.
Sukumar’s absence at the film’s promotional events will be a big worry for Pushpa. The film is being made in two parts. Only Sukumar can create a good and positive impression on the film and can also set the expectations straight. Allu Arjun and all the others can go on creating a hype around the film but only director Sukumar can make a balance.
With just a few hours left for the film’s release, the film unit should at least release a video of Sukumar, talking about the film. If a star director like Sukumar has to stay away from the promotions to bring better output, the industry should think about the time being given to them to prepare the film’s final output.
Going forward, the team should realize the same and ensure these things do not get repeated for the film’s second part release.
