Except for the likes of Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan, all other brigades of happening heroes including Prabhas, Charan, NTR, Allu Arjun and Nani are trying their hand at exploring other languages and new avenues. Pan South and pan India films have become the new USP for these heroes as they are trying to prove their mettle there.
The likes of Prabhas and recently Allu Arjun have proved what they could do at the Hindi box office, and definitely, their upcoming projects will be targeting Bollywood in a big way. Right now we have Radhe Shyam and RRR targeting north India heavily with their presence and this might increase in the coming days. Similarly, Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy is exploring the rest of the southern markets.
While Telugu heroes are going to Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi to prove their mettle and check their luck, now Tamil stars are trying heavily to do direct (or bilingual) Telugu films in order to expand their market. Both the big stars Dhanush and Vijay are now coming up with films that will be made by Telugu filmmakers for both language audiences. Dhanush has announced his ‘Sir’ with director Venky Atluri today.
Maybe this is for the first time that boundaries are getting blurred, thanks to corona times as it pushed filmmakers to expand their footprint for both business and audience sake. With the advent of OTT, as audience started to watch even Spanish language films and series with subtitles in India, this new wave of filmmaking has started, we must say.
