Sankranthi season is huge in the Telugu film industry with all the big and small ticket films release at this time. The big Telugu films recently settled the release dates to avoid clashes in dates and also to avoid loss of revenue.
While this is on the good side with many films heading for release in theaters after two years of uncertainty, the new Covid-19 variant is scaring them the most again.
With the growing number of Omicron cases in India, the government of Maharashtra imposed many restrictions, in which there are some that affect our Pan India Sankranthi releases RRR and Radhe Shyam.
Maharashtra government imposed a curfew between 9 pm to 6 am and also ordered that the theaters can screen only three shows a day at the most with only 50 percent of total occupancy. This could affect the two biggies RRR and Radhe Shyam, as they must have pinned a lot of hopes on Mumbai release.
Well, these restrictions appear to be indefinite as there is a mention of Christmas, New year, and other festivities. It looks like a big blow to the biggest releases RRR and Radhe Shyam, of whose stars and teams had been promoting their respective films all over without a break.
