We see how celebrities have it all—fame, money, good looks, and good luck. But it is less focused on the area where they experience depression and other mental health problems just like we all fans do. They have to face enormous pressure on a daily basis from looking perfect to talking sophisticated all the time.
Kudos to several young stars these days who are being open on mental health instead of fighting it in private. The stigma and the tendency have changed dramatically in the 21st century and Jr NTR, who is currently preoccupied with the release of RRR, revealed that he was depressed once too, especially after facing failure in his career.
In an interview, NTR is heard saying how he was an amateur with little to no knowledge during Rajamouli’s Student No. 1. At the age of 18, Tarak faced massive success with the film. But he said he wondered how long he is going to keep the triumph intact as there will be an inevitable fall ahead at some point in life.
Tarak said “And when the time came, when the fall hit me, I took it hard. There were films that did not work out and I was depressed. Not because the films weren’t working out, but because I was confused as an actor. I didn’t know what I should do.” Tarak revealed that Rajamouli helped him find solace during his difficult period and made him introspect himself as a performer.
He said that he has evolved as a performer which is great for him rather than the success of the film. His willingness to share his depression episodes with the public indicates that mental illness is not as taboo of a subject as it once was in Tollywood. It also sends a powerful message to fans out there. On the work front, RRR will release worldwide on 7 January 2022.
