Apparently, the growing Omicron cases and the fear of the Delta variant of Covid-19 are shocking the people as well as the film producers. Because the raise of cases is leading to the shutdown of theatres in Delhi, 50% occupancy along with night curfews in Mumbai and other states might follow the suit soon.
Some inside talk is now coming up that two upcoming biggies, Rajamouli’s RRR and Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam are in a severe dilemma right now regarding the release dates. Both the films are set to hit cinemas on Jan 7th and Jan 14th respectively and RRR has done extensive promotion so far to take the film more into the audiences while Radhe Shyam is yet to get into the scene. They say that already Prabhas and Co have decided to postpone the release, while the rumors on RRR contemplating on changing the release date are not true.
Meanwhile, Bollywood’s movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted Rajamouli’s words to him about ‘not postponing RRR’ and the movie is sure to hit the screens on Jan 7. The other day, producer DVV Danayya too confirmed that RRR is coming to theaters as announced and there will be no change in that. So for now, RRR is very much at the same pace towards landing on January 7th in theaters, but the outing of Radhe Shyam remains an enigma.
Right now there is a big confusion going on with governments too as the positive % of cases in Maharashtra are rising, and the government might lock down the theatres completely. If that happens, definitely these releases will see a change.
