#TicketPricing: Mohan Babu’s Open Letter To Industry

The ongoing tussle between the Andhra Pradesh government and the Telugu film fraternity over the movie ticket pricing issue is a known fact and the collection king Mohan Babu joins those few actors who raised their voices and opinions on the matter.

Showing solidarity and empathy to the film industry’s inside struggles, Mohan Babu conveyed what he feels just a few hours after Megastar Chiru stated that he doesn’t want to be called ‘the head of Tollywood’.

The senior actor said that his silence is not his weakness or inability over this fragile issue. He said the TFI is a place where every single person is given respect and valued as any other. “Tollywood is not about four heroes being superior or producers and distributors being in charge over everything. All are equal here,” he quoted.

He further reacted that our film industry is not governed by totalitarianism. The present situation of cinema ticket pricing is making the situation murkier and be it small or big, every film should run with no hurdles, he said. But, Mohan Babu strongly condemned the pricing and for this, he urged everyone to come forward in solidarity.

“The time has come now. Everyone should wake up. Where are all the producers in this critical situation?” the actor questioned. He also pointed out everyone’s silence in the industry and asked why the production council is not taking any responsibility in speaking up about the matter. “Come, let’s meet two CMs of our Telugu states and discuss our problems with them,” Mohan Babu requested openly.

Earlier, actors Chiranjeevi, Siddharth, Nani, Nikhil, and veteran filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao also expressed their concern over the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to cap the movie tickets at lower rates.
