Many producers and some well-wishers of the ruling YSR Congress party from the Tollywood fraternity are actually expecting a favorable result in terms of Ticket Pricing in Andhra Pradesh by the first week of January. With the government taking a poor decision of pricing the highest ticket at ₹ 30 in many theatres, the issue went to Courts as well.
With High Court asking to scrap the GO issued regarding ticket prices, the Andhra Pradesh state government immediately decided to file a counter. And now, the state has requested the court to give them time till February 10th to file their counter affidavit.
That means, forget about Sankranthi releases, even the big movies targeting February are going to get massively affected by the hasty decision of lowering ticket prices in the name of benefitting the poor.
Despite the fact that a committee is formed as per Dil Raju’s revelation and AP State Government is rumored to be doing some favors to Tollywood, it looks like things are not going that smooth.
And if the ticket prices continue to stay at the same, surely the film exhibition sector will die soon in the other Telugu state whose economy is already crippled ever since Telangana got separated.
