Radhe Shyam – RRR – Valimai…Fans Hoping For A Fairytale Ending

Published by

Prabhas’ much-awaited movie Radhe Shyam will not release on January 14 as announced earlier. The filmmakers cited the growing cases of Covid infections for the delay. UV Creations once again posted an emotional and heartfelt message for fans who are eagerly waiting for the film.

“We have been trying our best for the past few days but considering the growing cases of the Omicron variant, it looks like we will have to wait for our labour of love to get to the big screens. Radhe Shyam is a story about love vs destiny and we are sure that your love will help us rise over these tough times together. Will see you in cinemas soon,” said UV Creations, the producer of Radhe Shyam in a statement.

The pandemic is continuing to test our patience and it has upended the film industry’s hopes all over again by halting film production and closing cinemas. The new variant Omicron is creating uncertainty and keeping all this in mind, Rajamouli also decided to postpone the magnum opus RRR, a film with a stellar cast that cine-goers are desperate to witness on big screens.

The makers said they are forced to not release the movie as theatres are being shut in many states across the country due to concerns over the new Omicron variant. “In spite our relentless efforts some situations are beyond our control,” wrote the makers on social media.

On the other hand, one of the biggest stars of Tamil Nadu, Ajith, was returning to the big screen after 3 years with his most awaited action thriller, Valimai, on January 13. This is a very big thing for his massive fan base. But the heartbreaking news is involved here as well as the makers announcing that Valimai is no longer releasing during the Pongal period. The huge spike in cases left the producers of Valimai with no option but to delay the release.

Much earlier, Bollywood’s one of the anticipated flicks, Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey has also been postponed. After a huge setback in 2020 and 21, the film industry was finally getting back on track. But now, the situation turned upside down, leaving us with a question – Will Tollywood stop shooting for films and shows, given the rising number of Covid-19 cases among the fraternity members? Not only here, but the virus is also spreading rapidly in many cities too. If the situation remains as is (or worsens), we might as well expect a long-term lockdown very soon.
