With the pandemic making theatres shut and night curfews imposed, big-ticket movies like #RRR and Radhe Shyam got postponed as they are more worried about the North Indian market than the Telugu states. However, films like Bheemla Nayak that will work only at Telugu states’ box office also got postponed. Looking at festival trends, here is what analysts have to say.
Apparently, a lockdown was not imposed in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh government hasn’t pushed for the night curfew in the state. If there is any such thing, that might happen only after the Sankranthi holidays are over. On that note, if we look at the collections of Bangarraju, which grossed approximately ₹ 14 crores from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone, the likes of Bheemla Nayak would have made it more.
They say that had Bheemla gone ahead with the plans even with those low ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh, the film would have surely made a jackpot at the box office as the audience isn’t even caring Omicron when it comes to stepping into theatres.
Looking at the visuals from theatres in B & C centers in both the Telugu states, we have to definitely agree with this fact. So in that way, films that got postponed have really missed the Sankranthi advantage, quite unlucky!
