Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya was slated for a worldwide release on February 4. However, the makers have announced the other day that the release has been postponed due to the ongoing surge in the COVID-19 cases.
Earlier this morning, the team unveiled a new poster of the film and announced April 1st as the new release date. “This Ugadi, Witness the MEGA MASS on big screens. #Acharya Grand Release on April 1,” tweeted the film’s production house Konidela Production Company earlier this morning.
Actually, it was Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata that was slated for release on April 1st. For the last few weeks, it is being heard that the release will be pushed due to the delay in works.
However, the makers of SVP haven’t spoken about the postponement until now.
With the announcement of Acharya’s release date, it is now clear that SVP will not arrive on April 1st for sure. An official announcement is just a formality now.
Meanwhile, Mega fans are gearing up to start Ugadi festivities with Acharya. Directed by Koratala Siva, this film features Kajal Aggarwal, Ram Charan, and Pooja Hegde in the other lead roles.
