50 Days and 100 Days celebrations have become non-existent in Tollywood for the last few years. Of late, the success of films is determined by their first weekend collections. In such an age, Nandamuri Balakrishna brought that old glory back to the theatres as his latest film Akhanda had a successful 50 days of theatrical run.
Akhanda has successfully completed 50 days run in 103 theatres across India. This is not at all a small feat, considering the current theatrical run scenario and the pandemic.
Akhanda had hit the screens on December 2. Right from day one, people flocked into the theatres to watch it. It crossed many hurdles like initial negative talk, ticket rates reduction in Andhra Pradesh and the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, to reach this level.
In spite of facing competition from other films like Pushpa, Shyam Singha Roy and Bangarraju, Akhanda minted good collections at the box office all these days. Thus, it can be called the true genuine hit of 2021.
On the whole, Akhanda remained the biggest success in the careers of Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu.
People who have missed watching it in theatres can catch the film on Disney+ Hotstar from 6 pm tomorrow (January 21).
