With the likes of Thaman and Devi Sri Prasad charging anywhere between ₹ 3-4 crores per film these days, it looks like Telugu filmmakers are now thinking of some other options as well as they want to take their films to pan India level. Though the songs and background scores created by these two are so stunning, Tollywood is right now seeking variety and variation too.
As Bollywood got infatuated with the tunes of AR Rahman for a long time, some Telugu directors are right now trying to get him aboard, as he would also do a film in the same price bracket. There are reports that the sports drama which will have Jr NTR in the lead and directed by Uppena fame Buchhi Babu is likely to get Rahman aboard. Already the makers are trying to get the legendary Madras’ Mozart’s appointment in order to narrate the story and get him aboard.
Then comes the news that even Puri Jagan who is getting ready to team up with Vijay Devarakonda yet again after Liger for his “Janaganamana” is also likely to get AR Rahman as a composer for the film. With the backing of Karan Johar, surely that’s an easy thing, but we have to see how far Rahman will create tunes and score to the style of Puri Jagan.
Previously, the Oscar winning composer was supposed to deliver tunes for Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa but backed out of the project in the last minute due to unknown reasons. Rarely Rahman picks up Telugu movies, but then, these two biggies are Telugu-Hindi bilinguals which might interest him.
