In recent times, many heroines and upcoming heroes are actually indulging in lip locks, thanks to “Arjun Reddy” which proved that lip locks will be accepted by audiences in theatres too. But then, having just lip locks won’t work and if filmmakers don’t understand that aspect, then they are going to bite dust only.
If the latest discussion in Telugu circles is anything to go by, films that are having lip-locks are actually flopping at the theatres. While Anupama Parameswaran’s lip-lock with newcomer hero got all the attention, the film “Rowdy Boys” flopped big time. Similarly, we have Mahesh’s nephew Ashok Galla also locking lips with Nidhie Aggarwal in the movie “Hero”, but that film also tumbled. However, producers of those films claimed that those movies are super-duper hits. At the same time, even Nani indulged in such kissing with Kriti Shetty for “Syam Singha Roy” and that film ended up as an above-average farer.
And now, we are going to watch the lip kissing acts of Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Bangalore beauty Neha Shetty in “DJ Tillu”, while Raviteja’s french kiss act with Meenakshi Chaudhary in “Khiladi” is another thing to face. In the wake of Tollywood not seeing a massive hit after Akhanda and Pushpa, one wonders if these lip locks with help big time or not this Friday at the box office.
