During Tollywood bigwigs’ meeting with Andhra CM YS Jagan today, actor Prabhas has reportedly made a special request to the Chief Minister. Two weeks ago, the owners of V Epiq Cinema, the largest multiplex screen in South Asia in Sullurpeta, Nellore, downed the shutters expressing their inability to run cinemas with the new guidelines of the State government.
Talking about the same, Prabhas requested Jagan on the behalf of his friends, who are running V multiplex and urged him to reconsider his decision of ticket prices. The multiplex is equipped with Dolby Atmos advanced 3D surround system and a 106-feet-wide long screen with a total seating capacity of 676. Prabhas said that it was unfair to fix prices of big multiplexes the same as other theatres. He requested to review the prices of tech-savvy theatre.
However, after listening to the ticket prices issues and other problems patiently, Jagan has reportedly concluded that he shall discuss the contentious issues during the committee meeting. Apart from reintroducing five shows, the CM has not given assurance on other things. It is learnt that no conclusion has been made on the ticket prices issues by the end of the meeting as well.
Jagan concluded that theatres will be having two classes only and since the issue is in the court, the officials have reportedly not talked on the matter. As we recall, back in December, the HC directed the state government to form a committee in accordance with the high court orders and posted the matter for further hearing. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi said after the meeting that they will likely hear good news in ten days or so. This leaves many in dilemma and concerned over the next step.
