Thalapathy Vijay and dusky siren Pooja Hegde’s one of the highly-anticipated Tamil flicks is Beast. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and the makers have released the first song from the film titled, Arabic Kuthu.
Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the song is sung by Anirudh Ravichander & Jonita Gandhi. The track sounds creative with Arabic and Tamil kuthu folk beats and looks like the composer did a decent amount of research to bring in similar notes and the rhythm cycle of Arabic songs. While the flotation of the song obviously reminds us of Mideast music, the song is also equally feet-tapping and colourful.
The official video also showed glimpses of Vijay’s effortless and dynamic dance moves while Pooja grabs attention with her sparkly yet vibrant presence. Kudos to Anirudh for leaving music lovers, irrespective of language, mesmerized with hypnotic beats and sophisticated harmonies. The lyrics of the song are penned by Sivakarthikeyan.
Beast is currently in the post-production stage. According to social media buzz, the makers have planned to release the film in cinemas on April 14, clashing with Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2. However, an official announcement is awaited. Meanwhile, Beast is quite special for Pooja as it marks her return to Tamil cinema after a gap of nine years. And after Beast, Vijay will move on to Dil Raju’s upcoming production, Thalapathy 66, to be helmed by Vamsi Paidipally.
