Varun Tej was last seen in Gaddalakonda Ganesh in 2019 and after a long gap of two and a half years, the actor is making it big with sports drama Ghani. It is certainly a risky affair for the actor to give a hit under the debutant Kiran Korrapati directorial and with strict Andhra Govt rules.
As we know, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy passed orders to implement 50 % of occupancy in all cinema halls in Andhra and the exhibitors are demanding the government revise the GO regarding ticket rates. With occupancy restriction in AP still in place, Bheemla Nayak is yet to take a decision on the 25th Feb release. But Ghani is making a daring move and will come to theatres on 25th Feb as scheduled.
Ghani is an important film for Varun as he is making a comeback after two years with three years of blood and sweat. And for the lead actress Saiee, the film is her Telugu debut and so is for director Kiran. Meanwhile, in Tamil Nadu, Valimai gets a green signal as the TN Government removes occupancy restrictions altogether in the state. If AP does the same, both Bheemla Nayak and Ghani will breathe a sigh of relief. But with feeble hopes now, the makers of Ghani are releasing the film anyhow. Not to mention, all South States have lifted the restrictions except Andhra.
Talking about Ghani, this upcoming sports drama is written and directed by Kiran Korrapati and produced by Renaissance Pictures and Allu Bobby Company. The film stars Varun Tej, Saiee Manjrekar, Jagapathi Babu, Upendra, Suniel Shetty and Naveen Chandra. After being postponed multiple times owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film is scheduled to release on 25 February 2022.
