Fresh orders were issued by the Andhra Pradesh government again to strictly implement the GO 35 that deals with selling the cinema tickets at as low as ₹ 10 in some theatres, as the release of Bheemla Nayak is happening tomorrow.
According to unofficial reports doing rounds on TV, orders are said to have come from Chief Secretary’s office to even seize the theatres if they are found selling black tickets.
With the rights of the Andhra region sold for more than ₹ 50 crores, it will be a tough walk if the government imposes sanctions like this. And that is what worries the local distributors and exhibitors as well right now.
Some trade pundits are expecting that it is likely to be ₹ 15-25 crores even if the film gets decent openings. Only if the film manages to get a blockbuster talk and all the folks run to theatres, then the collections might be in a large volume.
On the other hand, one wonders why AP Govt still wants to strictly enforce the GO even after promising the Telugu film industry that they will take a decision on giving new GO very soon.
After promising that ticket prices will be hiked, it looks like Bheemla Nayak is not the film that deserves the change with immediate effect. Is this not political vendetta?
