An interesting discussion is right now going on in Film Circles about the way the Telangana government and Andhra Pradesh government are handling the Telugu Film Industry folks. With KTR also making some requests to Tollywood through Pawan Kalyan at Bheemla Nayak pre-release event other day,
Earlier, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan told the likes of Megastar Chiru, Mahesh and Prabhas to shift to Vizag and focus on developing Tollywood in Andhra Pradesh as well. He also promised them to give lands for studios and develop another Jubilee Hills like place in Vizag. But that sounded more like Tollywood folks will shift to Vizag only if lands are given to them to build studios.
Other day, Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao spoke about the newly inaugurated Mallanna Sagar Reservoir (part of the Kaleshwaram project) and requested Pawan Kalyan and other Tollywood shoot some films there while continuing to shoot in the Konaseema region as well. He also stated that if there is support from the likes of legends like Pawan, then Hyderabad would grow into an international filmmaking hub soon.
Political observers do say that though KTR doesn’t need Film Industry to make Hyderabad grow more or get an international identity, he doesn’t want to lose the charm films bring to a place, and hence placed his requests in a humble way.
Well, ifs up to Film Industry folks to finally decide what they want to do whether it is in Telangana or Andhra Pradesh.
