Theatre Occupancy: Kerala Removes But Maharashtra Continues

Published by

Various states across the country have reduced the theatre occupancies back to 50% a couple of months ago when the third wave of the pandemic had hit us. Now, the impact of the COVID-19 has reduced significantly and many states have started re-allowing the 100% occupancy in cinema halls.

The government of Kerala has decided to reopen the theatres will full-occupancies from today. This will give a big boost to Megastar Mammootty’s upcoming film Bheeshma Parvam, which is all set to hit the screens this Friday.

Kerala is one of the adversely affected states of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the situation is slowly getting back to normalcy, the government has decided to allow full occupancies in the theatres.

Now, Maharashtra remains to be the only state among the major contributing territories for cinema, to impose the 50% occupancy rule.

It is being expected that even Maharashtra will most likely remove the rule in a couple of weeks.

Anyway, it looks like the theatres are coming back to their normal state after months of struggle. Everyone is hoping that the situation remains the same and we don’t get hit any another wave of the pandemic.
