The much anticipated film of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan has finally hit the box office last Friday. The film met the expectations and opened to a sensational start on the first day. The following weekend, the collections were on par with Pawan’s true stardom. Worldwide ‘Bheemla Naayak’ collected Rs 70 crore share while from the Telugu states, the share stood at Rs 54 crore.
In Andhra Pradesh, ‘Bheemla Naayak’ underperformed because of restrictions from the state government. Yet Pawan’s film collected Rs 27 crore. However, after the first weekend, the first Monday collections usually drop but in case of ‘Bheemla’ the collections’ drop was significant and this sent a panic wave among the buyers and distributors.
Pushing the panic aside, ‘Bheemla Naayak’ made a huge jump on Tuesday on the eve of Shivaratri which is a public holiday. The film started off slowly from the morning shows but from matinee to midnight shows, everywhere houseful boards were reported.
With advance booking in place, many fans and general audiences found it difficult to get theatres. On the fifth day of its theatrical run, ‘Bheemla Naayak’ collected a share of Rs 7 crore and that’s a big feat.
It’s the same scene in the USA too. The Monday collections were low but with T-Mobile’s discount offer, ‘Bheemla’ picked up and collected $1.75 Lakh Dollars.
With these collections, Pawan’s film has touched the 2.3 million mark and is racing towards two and half million mark. Already the film is in the profit zone in the USA and in its full run, it might end up anywhere between 2.5 million to 2.75 million Dollar.
