Rakul: I was Told I Have A Generic Face

For the upcoming International Women’s Day, the sought-after actress Rakul Preet Singh spoke to a news portal and shared a few intriguing tidbits about herself. The actress, while speaking a variety of stuff in a special interview, also raised the point about the anecdote when she was told she has a ‘generic’ face.

Rakul said that the incident happened before her debut film. She recalled the bitter moment that one casting director told her during her Bombay auditions “you know, you’re very good but the only problem I feel is, you have a generic face”. She said she replied “I can’t help it.” Rakul further added that one has to believe in themselves and it’s not necessary for everyone to like them. ” As long as I love myself, and I am not delusional.”

The interview further went with Rakul recalling trolls on what she was wearing. The actress said that she had several such low days where she wakes up and checks her Instagram only to find trolls. “You’re a public figure, not a public property,” Rakul quoted. She further added “there’ll be thousands of people who have an opinion on everything. You can’t keep shouting about and clearing their minds and that’s the sad truth, and I really hope if you want to ask me one thing that changes about social media, is how people get a life”

On the work front, Rakul is busy in Bollywood with Thank You alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Ajay Devgn. She also has Runway 34 and Attack Part I with John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez and Doctor G with Ayushmann Khurrana.
