Lyricist Kandikonda passed away this afternoon and the news was officially announced by singer Smita. Taking to her Twitter, Smita wrote, “With a heavy heart, i would like to inform the twitter and industry family that Lyricist Kandikonda garu is no more. Wishing for God to give his family strength to deal with the loss. OmShanti.”
Kandikonda’s full name is Kandikonda Yadagiri and he is one of the very few lyric writers from the Telangana region. Kandikonda made his debut in films in 2001 with director Puri Jagannadh’s ‘Itlu Sravani Subramanyam.’ With Kandikonda’s songs receiving a super response, he never looked back. Until 2014, he was actively penning lyrics for films.
But a few years back cancer hit Kandikonda and he was getting treated for the same. Due to chemotherapy, Kandikonda’s spinal cord got damaged and he was unable to walk either. Simultaneously Kandikonda ran into financial troubles and urged for financial support. A few from the industry contributed but Kandikonda did not recover. Finally he breathed his last.
May Kandikonda’s soul rest in peace and deep condolences to his family members.
