We’re Celebrating 100 Days, After A Long Time: Balakrishna

100 days and 175 days run used to be the parameter for the success of a movie. But, the meaning of success of a movie was changed in last few years. A movie is considered hit, only if it recovers it’s full investment. Under these circumstances, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu’s mass action entertainer Akhanda celebrates 100 days run in 4 centres. Today, the team has celebrated the occasion in Kurnool with huge crowd attending it.

While speaking on the occasion, Boyapati Sreenu said, “My first film Bhadra and my second movie Tulasi were big hits and they had done well in Rayalaseema. I wondered what kind of a movie I should make, when I got the opportunity to direct Balakrishna, as he tried almost every genre.

I came up with Simha. It’s my first big step. Then, I made Legend with Balakrishna. We teamed up for the third time for Akhanda. In 13 years of our journey, every film we associated was an experiment and all of them turned out to be blockbusters. I thank god for giving me the chance to narrate this story.

Balakrishna wanted to celebrate this occasion in Rayalaseema only. He took part in the shoot of his 107th film till 1 PM today. Out of 4 centres celebrating 100 days of the movie, 3 are from Kurnool in Rayalaseema. Balakrishna is a purana purushudu (legendary personality). I wish to work with him again and again.”

Balakrishna said, “We are celebrating 100 days function, after a long time. Usually, Boyapati and I don’t discuss about our previous movies. We are setting new benchmark with every film we are doing together.

I and Boyapati has great belief on each other. I did some fantasy movies like Aditya 369 and Bhairava Dweepam. But scoring a blockbusters with a realistic movie like Akhanda is a big attainment. Akhanda completes 100 days in Koyalakuntla, Adoni, Yemmiganur, and Chilakaluripet. We thank every Indian across the globe.

Thaman has provided brilliant music. He transported cine goers to another world with Shiva slokas, Dhwanis, Shiva thandavam etc.”
