After delivering a critically acclaimed film The Tashkent Files, director Vivek Agnihotri is now back with his latest flick The Kashmir Files. This political drama had hit the screens on March 11, clashing with Prabhas-starrer Radhe Shyam.
As Radhe Shyam is a big-budget flick, it had stolen the limelight across the country. Thus, there was no pre-release buzz for The Kashmir Files.
However, the situation changed completely after the release. While Radhe Shyam started receiving a negative talk, The Kashmir Files started getting unanimous positive talk. Thus, the former witnessed a downfall in collections on Day 2 and Day 3 and the latter witnessed growth on the second and third days.
The Kashmir Files collected Rs. 4.25 crores on Day one. With a positive response, the collections spiked to Rs. 10.10 crores on Day 2. On Day 3, the collections went up once again and the movie earned Rs. 17.25 crores at the box office. On the whole, it managed to collect Rs. 31.6 crores in three days, as per the official reports. Apparently, the film witnessed a growth of 139.44% on the second day, which is the highest ever growth for a Hindi film on Day 2.
Now, extra shows are being added for the film in many cities. Even in Hyderabad, The Kashmir Files started getting new shows.
As Radhe Shyam ended up with a negative talk, we can expect The Kashmir Files to mint a good amount of money in the coming days. This film was co-produced by Telugu producer Abhishek Agarwal. Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and Darshan Kumar played the lead roles in it.
